The legendary Dusit Thani Bangkok will reopen on Sep 27

Here’s what to expect.

Dusit Thani is one of Thailand’s best-known hotel brands, first established fifty years ago in 1970, and known for its class and luxury. So when it was time to renovate the half-century-old building, they decided to tear it all down in 2019 and rebuild everything from the ground up—honoring its legacy with great respect (similar to The Okura Tokyo’s redevelopment). After many years and a few billion baht invested, the all-new Dusit Thani will open to the public on September 27. Here’s a brief overview of what to expect.

The new Dusit Thani features a golden hue (an auspicious color for Thais). Gold-colored cantilevered bay windows rise from the ground to the top, facing Lumpini Park and offering expansive park views from every room. Atop the building is the golden spire from the original structure. Award-winning designer Andre Fu has decorated the interiors with a blend of old-world class and modern luxury, incorporating pieces from the original building to create a seamless legacy.

The new Dusit Thani houses 257 guest rooms—fewer than the original 517, but with even more grandeur. Every room offers unobstructed park views through giant bay windows, along with top-notch comfort facilities. All dining outlets, from Benjarong to others relocated to Baan Dusit Thani, will return to the mothership, as will the Devarana Spa.

A key highlight is the public multi-level garden that spans from Dusit Thani to the other two buildings in the Dusit Central Park development project.

Dusit Thani Bangkok will reopen (partially) on September 27.
