Twenty-five years ago, Anantara Hotels & Resorts began with a single beachfront retreat in Hua Hin. Today, the Thai-born luxury hospitality brand has grown into a collection of more than 50 luxury hotels and resorts across 24 countries, spanning destinations from Thailand and the Maldives to the Middle East, Africa, and Europe.
To mark the milestone, Anantara has launched its global campaign, 25 Years of Unforgettable Journeys, celebrating the people, places, and experiences that have shaped the brand over the past two and a half decades.
Named after the Sanskrit word meaning “without end,” Anantara has long embraced a philosophy of endless discovery through travel. Across its portfolio, the brand encourages guests to experience destinations through local culture, architecture, cuisine, and community-led experiences, creating meaningful connections beyond traditional sightseeing.

The story began with Anantara Hua Hin Resort, a property that helped redefine luxury resort living in Thailand. The brand later expanded to some of the country’s most distinctive destinations, including Anantara Golden Triangle Elephant Camp & Resort in Chiang Rai and Anantara Bophut Koh Samui Resort. Both properties were shaped by landscape architect Bill Bensley, whose creative vision helped shape the identity of Anantara’s early years.
From Thailand, the brand expanded internationally with the opening of Anantara Dhigu Maldives Resort, followed by a growing collection of hotels across the Middle East, Africa, and Europe. In recent years, Anantara has strengthened its presence in Europe with properties in destinations including Amalfi, Amsterdam, Budapest, Dublin, Nice, and Rome.
The expansion continues, with new hotels planned across Australia, Japan, Egypt, Argentina, Croatia, the Turks and Caicos Islands, and the United States. The company is also introducing a new chapter through Anantara Tented Camps, beginning with Anantara Tented Camp Kafue River in Zambia.

One of the highlights of the anniversary celebration is ‘People Who Inspire,’ a storytelling project spotlighting 25 Anantara team members from around the world. The initiative recognizes the people behind the warm welcomes, thoughtful gestures, and local insights that often become the moments guests remember long after their stay.
To commemorate the anniversary, Anantara is also introducing a collection of exclusive destination experiences. Guests can cruise along Rome’s River Tiber aboard a private boat from Anantara Palazzo Naiadi Rome Hotel, stargaze from the overwater SKY Observatory at Anantara Kihavah Maldives Villas, or spend a memorable morning creating treats for elephants at Anantara Golden Triangle Elephant Camp & Resort in Chiang Rai.

After all, luxury travel today is increasingly defined not by extravagance alone, but by the stories collected, the people encountered, and the memories that remain long after the journey ends.
