It’s official: Bangkok is once again the number one foodie destination in Asia, according to the 2026 edition of Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants.
The prestigious awards ceremony, curated by the 50 Best critics, was held earlier this week in Hong Kong. Our Friday team was lucky enough to be on the ground, joining our media peers and industry friends as the curtain was pulled back on the finest dining rooms across the continent for the year ahead.
Alongside our fellow Thai participants, we celebrated in absolute joy as nine Bangkok restaurants claimed a coveted spot on the top 50 roster. This achievement marks the second consecutive year that our city has walked away with the highest number of recognitions in a single night.
Bangkok’s dominance was followed closely by Tokyo, which took second place with seven restaurants. Hong Kong, Seoul, and Singapore all shared the third place with six entries each, while Shanghai secured fourth with five restaurants (contributing to a total of seven entries for Mainland China).
A massive congratulations to all the chefs and teams who have made Bangkok the talk of the global food world once again. See below for the complete breakdown of every city and restaurant that made the cut for 2026!
