Bangkok Art Biennale will return in October 2026 with Angels and Mara

A year from now, the respected art festival will be back to the Thai capital with a new theme that focuses on conflicts and finding hope during a difficult time.

Every two years, the city-wide art festival Art Biennale will transform the entire Thai capital with a huge catalog of artworks from local and international artists—and we’ve just caught a teaser of what’s to come next year.

Bangkok Art Biennale is scheduled to return on October 29, 2026, and run until February 28, 2027. The host has already unveiled Angels and Mara as the theme of the upcoming edition, a concept that reflects on the co-living of the good and the bad, conflicts, and finding hope during a difficult time.

Accompanying the theme announcement is a sneak peek of the first 15 artists who will showcase their beautiful, thought-provoking artworks, including:

  • Kornkarn Rungsawang, Thailand
  • Mahtab Hussain & Guy Gunaratne, UK
  • Manit Sriwanichpoom, Thailand

  • Piero Golia, Italy
  • Ri, Myanmar
  • Shin Min, Korea
  • Sonia Hamza, France
  • Sun Yuan & Peng Yu, China
  • Teerapon Sisung, Thailand
  • Yasumasa Morimura, Japan

Bangkok Art Biennale has also unveiled the key venues that will house the exhibits: Wat Arun, Wat Pho, Wat Prayun, BACC, Museum Siam, The Bangkok National Museum, and One Bangkok.
