A cornerstone of Bangkok’s dining scene, Le Dalat is a family-run institution that has successfully transitioned to its third generation of leadership. It’s the kind of place designed for meaningful gatherings—whether it’s a long-overdue reunion with friends or a grand family dinner. The interior strikes a perfect balance between luxury and warmth, offering plush sofas you’ll want to sink into and private zones for more intimate affairs, all while maintaining an atmosphere that feels like a direct transport to old-world Vietnam.
While the classics like Pho and prawn spring rolls are must-try dishes, Le Dalat hits hard when you venture into its more unique specialties. We highly recommend My Tho Carp, a photogenic dish that features the fried giant gourami served upright, looking as if it’s swimming across the plate, and draped in a tangy Vietnamese tamarind sauce.
Another must-order is Ga Roti, aka the Indo-Chinese-style roasted chicken. This isn't your average poultry dish, as the chicken is slow-braised in coconut water until the meat is incredibly tender, resulting in a savory-sweet broth with a creamy finish that is simply unforgettable.
